GOLF. The sixth match of the Affiliation de golf des Cantons-de-l’Est (ARGCE) regional youth championship was marked by some surprises on Wednesday within the streets of the Drummondville membership.
The competition introduced collectively 67 younger individuals between the ages of 9 and 18. On the lads’s aspect; Gabriel Bernard; from the Les Cèdres de Granby membership; secured the 2021 youth title (17-18 years) by delivering a 75 card.
Within the youth class (15-16 years); the Drummondvillois Vincent Laperriere he acquired the win with a rating of 77. The host membership consultant beat Antoine Sylvestre (Les Cèdres) by three strokes.
Within the bantamweight division (13-14 years); Thomas Grenier of the Thetford membership returned a rating of 73; successful off Philippe Bélanger of the Drummondville membership. Felix Cloutier; from the Venice membership; took third space; thus ending first within the accrued rating of the season.
Within the pee class (11-12 years outdated); the win went to Alexis Delaunay; from the Les Cèdres membership. With a spherical of 82 strokes; he outscored Brian Yao of the Drummondville membership by 5 strokes.
In mosquitoes (9-10 years outdated); Zachary Patterson of the Dufferin Heights membership claimed win with a 104-stroke efficiency. The ten-year-old golfer triumphed in opposition to Drummondvillois Nathan Duquette and Arthur Brault (Owl’s Head); who turned over a rating of 112.
On the ladies’s aspect; Mackenzie Cloutier; from the Le Blainvillier membership; received within the junior class with a spherical of 77. Rebecca Perez; from the Les Cèdres membership; and Sarah Maude Martel; from the Plessisville membership; completed tied for second space with one rating. of 84 actions.
Within the youth class; Isabelle Romashenko (Les Cèdres) triumphed with a rating of 95 strokes.
In bantams; Mia Poirier (Victoriaville) performed a spherical of 79 whereas within the peewee class; Kate Guo (Les Cèdres) turned in a card of 88.
The ARGCE season will finish with the celebration of the Champions Gala; which is able to carry collectively some forty younger golfers on the Château Bromont membership; on Sunday 12 September. (JH)
