Japan’s Ryoyu Kobayashi won the first stage of the Four Hills Tour on Wednesday in Oberstdorf; Germany with 302 points; ahead of Norway’s Halvor Egner Granerud (299.2) and Robert Johansson (298.6).
Author of a win in 2019 (victory in the four stages of the Tour); the 25-year-old Japanese has already signed his fourth victory of the season.
Poland’s Kamil Stoch; a title holder and three-time winner of the prestigious ski jumping competition; missed qualifying for the second jump of the day; finishing only 41st.
The stage; which usually attracts thousands of spectators; took place behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The jumpers will meet on January 1 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany); then on January 4 in Innsbruck and on January 6 in Bischofshofen for the two Austrian stages of the Tour.
