The 12-year-old Craftsman Skaters Sisterhood [*********journaltimeplex at 3006 Allegro Park Lane SW was purchased by Elizabeth and Jann Sarkaria under the corporate name of Packer Investments; LLC; on Aug. 2. They paid about $195 per square foot.
PSA; described as the largest figure skating coaches association in the world; built the 10;000-square-foot center in 2000. It features a large atrium; which previously housed the Taylor-Gebler Gallery. The gallery features bronze ice skater statues created by artists Meghan and Douglas Taylor-Gebler as well as other custom and related artwork.
This ownership change means most of the national skater organization’’s team of seven staffers will continue to work remotely as they have since early in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Communication and media director Elizabeth Thornton explained that PSA will retain a footprint in the building by leasing space in the Davis Law Firm’’s suite offices. Davis Law has long been a tenant in thejournaltimeplex.
-We’’re just adapting to the changing time and trying to make responsible business decisions;– said Thornton.
Artwork that was displayed in the gallery is being transferred to the Skating Club of Boston’’s new facility as well as to the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs; Colo.
Elizabeth Sarkaria said the plan now is for the Resilience Center; an outpatient mental health facility for adults and children; to move into the facility by the start of September.
The Resilience Center; owned by Dr. Brandy Brown and Annette Clark; started treating clients remotely in May. The center has three mental health providers on staff and is looking to add more.
Sarkaria added that she hopes to be able to offer thejournaltimeplex’’s atrium for special events as well bringing art back to the gallery space.
Olmsted County estimated the total market value of the center at $1.82 million for 2021-2022.
