BOSTON (CBS) – If you have not heard it yet, you will. An metaverse. Experts say this is a big change in how the tech world wants us to think about the internet.

“Today there are several generations of people who have grown up with the Internet with their online digital identity,” Radoff said. “Millions of people are discovering that their online identity is more important than their physical identity.”

Radoff is among those laying the foundation for the Metaverse. He says it all starts with video games.

“There are players to create content. They will create experiences. They will be dungeon masters ahead of adventures.

Many of us grew up fighting 8-bit beats and collecting coins on games like “Super Mario Brothers” and “The Legend of Zelda.” But now, blockchain-based games like “Axie Infinity” could allow players to get real pay.

“It’s like a Pokémon,” Radoff explains. “When you buy a character and you can make your characters more powerful, leveling up your characters. And they can make money by participating in the economy of this game. ”

You can also buy land next to rapper Snoop Dogg in the metaverse’s Sandbox Game. It looks a lot like his own home in California.

“You add art to the game,” says Radoff. “You will be a craftsman of the game. You will make a life. You will make fashion.

And those methods could include digital assets called NFTs or unmixed signals.

“It’s up to the players to trade with each other and keep them if they want to or sell them to another player who likes them more.”

Jon believes that the metaverse will also open up the global economy.

“It will allow people around the world to access markets that they do not currently have access to and find new ways to make money.”

And he expects most of the metaverse to be decentralized, which means banks are left out and financial equality is in order.
