Bronny James could play in the NBA from the 2024-2025 season.
Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NGA and the Players’ Association, a player must be at least 19 years old in the calendar year in which the Draft will be held and at least one year must have passed since they graduated from school.
As a 2023 high school graduate, Bronny must wait until 2024 to enter the NBA Draft.

Bronny James is 18 years old. He was born on October 6, 2004, so he will be 19 in a few months.
Although James meets the minimum age to enter the NBA, his school classification prevents him from registering for the NBA Draft before 2024.
Could LeBron James play with his son Bronny in the NBA?
During Bronny James’ junior year in high school, LeBron opened up about his wishes for his son, saying: “I want to make it to the NBA … I want to be on the court with him, I think it would be an incredible moment.”
After Bronny committed to USC in early May, LeBron doubled down on his goal, reaffirming that “I was serious, and I’m still serious (about playing with my son in the NBA).”
LeBron clarified, saying that “Just because that’s my wish or my goal, doesn’t mean it’s yours. And I’m fine with that.”
It remains to be seen if Bronny shares the goal of playing with his father, but as a highly sought-after commitment, he is still on track.

After the Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 Western Conference Finals, James took a dire tone regarding his future in the NBA, saying: “I have a lot to think about, to be honest. Just for me personally, going forward in the game of basketball, a lot to think about.”
Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reported that James is “uncertain” if he will be with the Lakers to start next season, adding that retirement is “under consideration.”
James expressed a similar sentiment to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, saying: “I have to think about (walking out).”
