HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) – Recently retired quarterback and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady will become a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, principal owner Mark Davis told ESPN on Monday. The decision requires the approval of the NFL.

“We are excited to have Tom join the Raiders and it is exciting that he will become the third player in National Football League history to become an owner,” said Davis.

Brady and Davis already had a business relationship with the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces in which Davis is the majority owner and Brady has an interest in it.

At least 24 NFL owners must approve Brady’s deal with the Raiders.

In addition, Brady has a 10-year, $375 million broadcast contract with Fox Sports that begins in 2024.

Brady won six Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On the way to his first trophy, Brady defeated the Raiders in the postseason after they famously called a fumble with the “Tuck Rule.”
