(CNN) – Argentina goalkeeper Leandro Requena scored one of the most incredible goals seen during his team, Cobresal’s 3-1 win over Colo-Colo in the Chilean soccer league.
In the 77th minute, when his team was already leading 2-0, Requena managed to make an innocuous goal kick.
However, with Colo-Colo goalkeeper Brayan Cortés well outside his box, the ball bounced off his head and scored.
Adding insult to injury, Cortés fumbled trying in vain to chase the ball as it crossed the goal line.
According to TNT Sports Chile, the goal was scored from a distance of 101 meters, which would break the record for the longest distance goal in history if confirmed by Guinness World Records.
The current record is 96.01 metres, set by Tom King in 2021 during a match between Newport County and Cheltenham Town in England’s fourth division.
