Qualified scorers faced each other in the Last Chance Cypher knockout stage, and the 4 boys and 4 girls who progressed to the semi-finals earned free places in the Top 16 in the World Final on Saturday.

Scorers from all over the world will come together to battle it out in the most anticipated singles tournament in the world.

The judges also chose another b-girl and two other boys as MVP for Last Chance Cypher. They took the last places in the world championship.

With this in mind, meet the breakers who secured the final spots on the Red Bull BC One World Final 2022.

Sunny, originally from New York, will be on stage at the World Finals as her hometown “b-girl”. In one of the top four spots in the Last Chance Cypher, Grianmhar was cool, calm and stylish as she delighted her hometown crowd. Also, having competed in the Red Bull BC One World Finals in 2018 and 2020, this is his third time on the championship stage.

The dynamic girl originally from Cookeville, Tennessee, started in Philadelphia in 2008, but has lived in New York for many years. “I would love to come here and represent New York,” he says. “I think after starting to break here it’s important to have someone representing him.”

Alessandrina fought her way to the Red Bull BC One World Final by scoring a top four win in Cypher Last Chance 2022. Born and raised in Sicily and a member of the Marittima Funk crew, the Italian girl used energetic and explosive her high energy style and lively character to win over the audience and the judges.

As well as being the first B-Girl from Italy to compete at the World Finals when she did so in 2019, she will now join B-Girl Anti, also from Italy, in the Top 16 ranking Saturday.

In the breakout scene from 2006, taking dance lessons when she was just six years old, after the battle Alessandrina was still full of energy and emotion saying: “I feel free, I feel happy, I feel proud of myself and I can’t me. Looking forward to dancing on the main floor on Saturday. It’s a dream come true and I can’t believe it.”

After competing in the last two Last Chance Cyphers, Vanessa has earned a spot on the Red Bull BC World One Finals stage, becoming the first girl from Portugal to compete in the prestigious competition. A B-girl who prides herself on her originality, she got one of the open spots on Saturday claiming one of the top four spots.

Break since 2012, and represent the city of Leiria, after the battle Vanessa said: “This was my goal this year, I was super-focused to get on stage and show everyone that I was in there to do it. The Last Chance Cypher was amazing, I was prepared and I didn’t want to leave any doubts from the moment I entered each battle. I felt my energy throughout the rounds, but I’m happy with the what I did.”

From Wroclaw (Poland), Paulina got one of the top four places in the Last Chance Cypher. Practicing the break since 2004, at the age of 13, she is the only girl from Poland to take part in the Red Bull BC One World Final. This will be Paulina’s third time taking part to take the stage of the championship, as she gave. also competing in 2017 and 2021.

A veteran b-girl with multiple wins to her credit, including being a two-time European Outbreak champion, she has a funky style, saying: “Last Chance Cypher was really cool, I was really wanting to fight, and of course New York. It’s a special place to dance. On Saturday I want to show my own style and express myself.”

Carlota is a 20-year-old girl from Marseille, France. He started breaking in 2008, when he was only 6 years old. Carlota finds her style inspiration in her Cuban roots, which she describes as “girl power.” By combining charisma with complex tricks, Carlota won the MVP award at this year’s Last Chance Cypher and is performing for the first time at the Red Bull BC One World Final.

After being announced as the MVP, she said: “We’re in New York, where the break was born, so I have to respect the dance, show my style and personality, and do as long as I can.”

Lil Zoo was born in Morocco but now lives in Austria. As the 2018 Red Bull BC One World Champion, he won the Red Bull BC One Cypher Austria in 2022 and took one of the top four finishes in the Last Chance Cypher.

Lil Zoo features El Mouwahidin, Flying Steps and Red Bull BC One All Stars. He is known for his energetic style and is looking forward to competing on the World Finals stage again: “I am happy to win the Last Chance Cypher because it means a lot to me. I have won the Red Bull BC One Cypher One . once, the African cypher three times, the Austrian cypher once, the world final once, and now I’ve won the Cypher Another Chance once. I’m excited to be on stage and fight for the world championship again .”

Illz is a 30-year-old Canadian boy raised in Toronto. He has been breaking since 2004 and now represents Ground Illusionz, United Rivals and Lions of Zion. With an emphasis on originality, Illz has spent years creating a style that mixes creative thread patterns with freezes and burns.

Illz scored a top four finish in this year’s Last Chance Cypher after winning the Red Bull BC One Cypher Canada. This is his first time competing in the Red Bull BC One World Final.

“I’m proud of myself because I felt like I deserved it. I like the demand to push yourself and work for things, to see everything that comes true.”

Mighty Jimm used his original “blow ups” to get one of the top four spots in the Last Chance Cypher. Representing the Belgian city of Antwerp and as a member of the Black Out and On Dust crews, he went all out in every battle, never holding back, to reach the World Finals for the first time in his career .

Breaking from 2005, when he started dancing at the age of seven, he will be the first b-boy to represent Belgium in the Red Bull BC One World Final.

“Today was very tough, because my opponent had completely different styles and I didn’t know what to expect, but I kept going, it was a great experience and I had fun. It was a great experience there and I had fun. It’s great to reach the world final, I’m very happy. I want to keep pushing on the world stage on Saturday.”

Wigor is a 20 year old B-boy from Krakow, Poland. As a member of the Cool Kidz Mob, he started breaking out in 2011 at the age of 11. Known for strong speed in all his moves, Wigor took one of the top four places in the Last Chance Cypher, after the Red To win Bull BC One Cypher Poland. After attending the Red Bull BC OneWorld 2021 final in Gdansk as a spectator, Wigor was driven to become a competitor himself this year.

“It’s always been my dream, you know. It’s the biggest breakout event in the world.”

Issin is a 17-year-old boy from Okayama, Japan. Representing Corp Carnival, Issin has been breaking since 2013, when he was just 7 years old. Issin is known for his power forward, landing in the top 8 in this year’s Last Chance Cypher. Even the power move innovator B-Boy Ivan was blown away by the original power combos Issin unleashed against former BC One champion Lil Zú. In the end, Issin won the MVP award and is competing in the World Finals for the first time in his life.

“The truth is that I try to be the loudest of the dancers, so I really want to.”

Mini Joe was selected by the judges as one of the two Last Chance Cyphers MVP breakers and was awarded one of six open points at the World Finals on Saturday. Living in Spain, but from the city of Caracas (originally from Venezuela), he impressed the judges with his dynamic, musical and raw b-boy flow, doing his footwork, power and freezing with speed and precision during the entire afternoon session.

Starting off in 2003, at the age of seven, this was Mini Joe’s second time competing in the Last Chance Cypher, and when he found out he was going to compete in the finals of the deeply he said: “I feel very happy in this moment because this was my goal, to represent in the final stage of the world. It’s a dream for me, and now I have my dream in my hands, to do my best on Saturday.”
