(CNN Spanish) – Brazil fell this Friday against Croatia in the final on penalties in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar. This is not the first time the canainha has been left out in this stage: of the 15 times he has played, counting the 2022 cup, he has been eliminated six times.
Brazil came to Qatar as one of the favorites to win the World Cup, qualifying for the first time in the group and winning in the round of 16 against South Korea.
However, they lost the final on penalties against Croatia 4–2, after drawing 1–1 in 120 minutes, and were eliminated from the World Cup.
Until now, Brazil remained unbeaten against Croatia: out of the four matches they had played, they had won two and drawn two.
Before Qatar, Brazil reached the quarter-finals 14 times. Of that total, he won eight, lost four and tied two, according to DataFactory statistics. In one of those draws he was disqualified in the shootout on penalties.
