Johnny Gargano’s contract has expired

Johnny Gargano no longer has a contract with WWE.

Johnny Gargano has been a free man since Friday.

A few weeks ago, Johnny Gargano, whose contract was due to end on December 3, had signed a one week extension to be able to participate in NXT WarGames 2021. A contract extension that just ended, and the fighter hasn’t signed anything new since.

Therefore, Johnny Gargano’s contract expired on Friday as scheduled, says the Fightful site. The fighter has reportedly decided to become a free agent and, as expected when a contract ends on his own, there is no non-competitive clause, so Gargano is free to fight wherever he wants.

WWE would have made a new offer much more comfortable for the wrestler than the one he signed in 2019, Fightful reports, adding that the relationship between Gargano and Stamford’s company has remained amicable.

Johnny Gargano announced this Wednesday during WWE NXT that he will be a father for the first time next February – from his union with the fighter Candice LeRae – and could very well have decided to take a break. Fightful also explains that a WWE signing is still possible at this time.

Johnny Gargano has thus far bid farewell to WWE NXT following the loss at WarGames, a farewell speech during which he was attacked by Grayson Waller.
